Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data UK Pension Planner collects, how it is used, and your rights under UK GDPR. Last updated: April 2025.

Summary

UK Pension Planner does not collect, store or transmit any personal data you enter into the calculators. All calculations happen locally in your browser. We use Google Analytics 4 to collect aggregated, anonymised page view statistics. We do not use advertising cookies, sell data, or share any information with third parties beyond what Google Analytics requires to function.

1. What data we collect

Calculator inputs

Any figures you enter into the calculators on this site (salary, pension pot values, NI qualifying years, date of birth, and so on) are processed entirely within your browser using JavaScript. This data is never sent to our servers, never stored in a database, and never transmitted to any third party. Closing or refreshing the page clears all inputs.

Analytics data

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site. This collects anonymised data including pages visited, approximate geographic region (country or broad region, not precise location), browser type, device type, and session duration. IP addresses are anonymised before processing. We do not use this data to identify individuals.

Contact form submissions

If you use the contact form, your name, email address and message are submitted via Formspree, a third-party form service. This data is used solely to respond to your enquiry. We do not add contact form submissions to any mailing list. Formspree's privacy policy applies to data processed through their service.

2. Cookies

This site uses a small number of cookies. Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish returning visitors and track session data. These are analytics cookies only. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or any cookies that follow you across other websites.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by declining analytics cookies when prompted by the cookie banner.

3. Legal basis for processing

Analytics data is processed on the basis of legitimate interest, as it allows us to understand which tools are most useful and to improve the site. Contact form data is processed on the basis of your consent when you submit the form.

4. Data retention

Analytics data is retained within Google Analytics for 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted. Contact form submissions received via Formspree are retained for as long as is necessary to respond to your enquiry, and no longer than 12 months.

5. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data we hold about you. You also have the right to object to processing and to data portability. As we hold very limited personal data (only contact form submissions, if applicable), most of these rights will have limited practical application. To exercise any of your rights, contact us via the contact form.

6. Third-party services

This site uses the following third-party services:

  • Google Analytics 4, anonymised usage statistics. Google Privacy Policy
  • Formspree, contact form processing. Formspree Privacy Policy
  • jsDelivr CDN, serves the Chart.js library used for graphs on calculator pages. No personal data is collected by jsDelivr in this context.
  • Google Fonts, loads the Playfair Display, Inter and JetBrains Mono typefaces. Google may log IP addresses when fonts are loaded.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Continued use of the site after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

8. Contact

For any privacy-related queries, use the contact form. We will respond within 30 days.
